The cryptocurrency exchange launched in China in 2012 as BTER exchange. In 2017, due to Chinese regulators, the activity was shut down. The company later rebranded the platform and renew its operations under the Gate.io brand. Clients' accounts have been transferred to the new platform. Now it is one of the biggest crypto exchanges in the world.
